Affordable Justice Limited launched on February 5th 2016 at Hull City Council’s office – Hull Guildhall. Aimed at providing affordable family law solutions for women and children fleeing violence and abuse, the service offers legal advice and representation for those women no longer eligible for Legal Aid as a result of welfare reform.
Overwhelming Support from Local Agencies and Services
The launch was attended by representatives from more than 40 local agencies and services and received overwhelming support from Hull City Council local elected members who welcomed this new, much needed service to the city.
First Day of Operations
On Monday February 8th, first day of operations for the new service – the first of its kind in the UK – Councillor Mary Glew proudly cut the ribbon and opened the doors.
